Jinshi and Lakan's Intense "Maomao Superfan" Stares Spark Laughs: "Their Serious Faces Are Hilarious" in The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Premiere

Episode 49 of the anime The Apothecary Diaries aired on October 2 (airing in order by region). Viewers burst out laughing at the scary faces of Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) and Lakan (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto), who looked as if they were saying, "Don't you dare let anything happen to Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki)," calling them "Maomao superfans" and saying "I lost it."

In Episode 49, "Locust," the premiere of Season 3, Maomao tried to get information from the guard (voiced by Tomoaki Maeno) who had stolen books from the Shi clan's fortress. Ukyou (voiced by Yoshiaki Hasegawa), who has long been at Verdigris House, ended up sitting in on the questioning. When Maomao said, "You don't have to watch," Ukyou replied, "Can't do that. If anything happened to you, both Lord Fox and Lord Mask would be furious with me." The video then showed Lakan and Jinshi, the so-called "Lord Fox and Lord Mask," giving off a frightening air.

Online viewers had fun with the two men's over-the-top devotion to Maomao, posting comments such as "Their serious faces are too funny lol," "I lost it," "Lord Fox and Lord Mask are Maomao superfans," "The strongest duo (in more ways than one)," and "Their faces are hilarious."
