First-Time Cosplay Was 'Far More Fun Than Expected'... Skillfully Recreating a Super-Deformed Brawl Stars Character!

Tokyo Game Show 2026 was held September 17-21 (September 21 online only) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. We share photos of Atori, who attended as Colette from Brawl Stars, and ask in an interview what Atori focused on in the costume and which cosplay Atori would like to try next.

——What made you want to cosplay as Colette from Brawl Stars this time?

Atori (honorifics omitted below): When I first played Brawl Stars, the character that struck me most at first impression was Colette. Colette looks cute and has a lot of charm, but I think the occasional hint of madness is part of her appeal, too.

Colette's regular outfit is originally gender-neutral, but I really wanted to spread the word about how cute Colette is, so this time I deliberately took on Colette's other outfit, the maid costume.

——How did you get into Brawl Stars, and what do you find appealing about it?

Atori: I was looking for a game that was easy to pick up but also deep, and that's how I found the mobile game Brawl Stars. Every character in Brawl Stars is unique and appealing, and above all, I think it's really fun that you play while thinking up strategies within a short three-minute match.

——What did you want to express with this cosplay?

Atori: Brawl Stars characters are basically super-deformed. When portraying a super-deformed character, I strongly felt I had to recreate it faithfully so that nothing looked off. I looked for a maid outfit as close to the original as possible, and I adjusted things in a balanced way to keep anything from looking odd, such as the size of the bell tied around the wrist, thinking about how big it would actually be.
