'Exhilarating Opening Gets Me Excited': Ranma ½ Season 3 Opening and Ending Videos Released to Big Reaction

The textless opening (OP) video and textless ending (ED) video for Season 3 of the TV anime Ranma ½ were released on October 4, drawing a big reaction on social media.

The released opening video begins with a scene at the Tendo family dinner table. Familiar characters appear one after another, including new characters who debut in Season 3. During the chorus, a battle scene between Ranma Saotome and Ryoga Hibiki is also shown, giving the video a feel that evokes the story set to unfold in Season 3. The video lets viewers enjoy the TV-size version of Season 3's opening theme, "Sunao Miman," sung by Fumino.

The ending video, meanwhile, is again produced by Minami Kitamura, following Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime. Illustrations by F*kaori, in a style different from the main anime, unfold in pastel colors. The relationship between Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo is depicted along with the lyrics, and in the latter half of the video, Shampoo, Mousse, Cologne, Ryoga Hibiki, Kasumi Tendo, Nabiki Tendo, Genma Saotome (panda), Soun Tendo, Ukyo Kuonji, and Tsubasa Beni also appear, each shown gazing at the stars. This video uses the TV-size version of the Season 3 ending theme, "Kawaikunai," by Yuika.

Following the videos' release, praise has poured in on social media. Viewers shared comments on the opening such as "What a great opening!", "An upbeat, opening-worthy tune with cute lyrics and Fumino's lovely singing voice, just wonderful," and "It's such a dynamic opening, it got me excited." For the ending, comments included "Listening to Yuika's song, I feel like I might cry," "I love this art style," and "Both the song and the visuals are the best!" Viewers are being captivated by both the music and the visual beauty.
