“Legend of a Beautiful Celestial Maiden Who Vanished into a Lake” Told in The Apothecary Diaries Episode 50: Synopsis and Preview Cuts Released

The synopsis and preview cuts for Episode 50 of Season 3 of the anime The Apothecary Diaries have been released.

The anime The Apothecary Diaries is based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It has also been adapted into manga by two publishers, and combined sales of the original novels and the comics, including digital editions, have surpassed 57 million copies, making it a huge hit. The series became a major topic of conversation thanks to its mystery drama featuring Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki), who comes to work as a poison taster in the rear palace, and the comical exchanges between Maomao and Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Otsuka). The TV anime has aired through Season 2, and Season 3, split into two cours, began airing its first cour on October 2 on the Nippon TV network. The series' first feature film, The Apothecary Diaries: Bouhi no Hihou, is scheduled for release on December 11.

Episode 50 "Fire-Rat Robe" Synopsis
Maomao has come to the market on the main street to buy a padded jacket for a child, to be worn by Chou-u. While she is looking over the goods at a secondhand clothing shop, Chou-u, who came along with her, takes an interest in a white garment hanging on the wall. It is a garment that looks like the clothing of another ethnic group, with vine-like embroidery on the sleeves. The shopkeeper calls it the "Fire-Rat Robe" and begins to tell the "legend of a beautiful celestial maiden who vanished into a lake" associated with the garment...
