Hida City in Gifu Prefecture, the town that inspired the scenery in the animated film Your Name., is now handing out "10th anniversary commemorative bookmarks." A recreated version of the original display is also on view.

Released on August 26, 2016, the film has reached its 10th anniversary this year. Ten years on, the city that inspired it continues to welcome many fans from Japan and abroad.

As a thank-you to the fans who have visited Hida City, and in the hope of seeing them again in Hida, the Hida-Furukawa Machinaka Tourist Information Center is giving out the "10th anniversary commemorative bookmark" free of charge. The bookmarks and displays at Hida City Library that drew attention when the film was released have also been recreated.

Visitors can take home the bookmarks given out at the Hida-Furukawa Machinaka Tourist Information Center as a memento of the 10th anniversary or of their trip to Hida City. Distribution began on Wednesday, August 26, and will end when supplies run out. The bookmarks are available at the Hida-Furukawa Machinaka Tourist Information Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed December 29 to January 3). There are four designs in total, featuring Hida-Furukawa Station, Hida City Library, Ochiai bus stop, and Keta Wakamiya Shrine. They are free, limited to one per person. The center also offers guidance on places that recall the film, as well as on strolling around the Hida-Furukawa town area.

In addition, Hida City Library, which served as a model for a location in the film, has recreated the displays and bookmarks that became a talking point on social media when the film was released. The initiative offers nostalgia to those who visited ten years ago and lets first-time visitors experience the atmosphere of that time. The bookmarks and displays are available from Wednesday, August 26. The displays are set up at the entrance of Hida City Library, and the bookmarks are placed at the library's Your Name. corner (next to the restrooms), free for visitors to take. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. The library is closed every Monday, on the last Friday of each month, over the year-end and New Year period, and on collection inventory days. If a Monday is a public holiday, it closes the following day.
