Visiting Hida City because of Your Name. is not only about touring the places that inspired the film. Walking the streets of Hida-Furukawa, strolling the white-walled storehouse district along the Seto River, and enjoying food at local shops are all part of the appeal. A lot has changed in the city since the film's release ten years ago, and new shops and sightseeing spots have appeared.

Over the past decade, fans who come to Hida because of the film and the people who live and work in the area have shared many encounters and memories. Reiko Oshima of Sakura Bussankan, a local products shop, says, "I feel the film has been loved by so many people without fading at all, even ten years after its release. I'm truly happy that new fans still come to visit Hida City."

Yoshiko Mori of Ajidokoro Furukawa also extends an invitation: "Still today, many customers visit Hida City, both from Japan and overseas. Some devoted fans who cherish the film dearly even time their visits to match the time of day shown in the story. We'll have delicious gohei mochi, skewered rice cakes, ready and waiting, so please come visit."

Your Name. is a hit animated film directed by Makoto Shinkai, released on August 26, 2016. This miraculous story tells, in beautiful visuals, of the mysterious "body-swapping" phenomenon that happens to Taki, a high school boy living in Tokyo, and Mitsuha, a high school girl living in a small town in the Hida region, as well as the events surrounding a comet approaching Earth for the first time in 1,200 years.
