Disney's New Film Hexed Opens December 4! Mei Hata and Toma Ikuta Join the Japanese Voice Cast

Hexed, the latest theatrical release from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind Frozen and Zootopia, tells the story of an unconventional new-era Disney heroine and opens in theaters on Friday, December 4. The Japanese main trailer and key poster have now been released, along with comments from the Japanese voice cast, Mei Hata (Billie) and Toma Ikuta (Beef).

Billie Doe, the film's protagonist, is the first modern-day high school student in Disney heroine history. Feeling stifled by the "normal" that others define for her, she has been searching for a place where she can be herself without being bound by rules. One day, however, she awakens a sealed magical power, and it leads her to Hex, a secret kingdom where wizards live.

The newly released main trailer shows Billie, an unconventional high school student who felt suffocated by the rules imposed on her, being drawn into the magical world of Hex and embarking on a grand adventure, accompanied by powerful magical visuals.

When she was little, her mother told her, "You're a special child. You have to hide your power," and Billie has worn a bracelet ever since. But when it comes off, her dormant magical power awakens. She is suddenly pulled into Hex, the kingdom where wizards live in hiding. Amazed by the vivid world of wizards and the countless spells she has never seen before, she also lights up with joy at finding a world where she can be herself for the first time. But because she alone can soar through the sky in a world where no one is supposed to fly, her fate changes completely.

Celeste, the queen who rules Hex, sees that power as dangerous and sends her crow familiars after Billie, declaring, "I am the only one who can fly." In the midst of a desperate chase, Billie meets a familiar, a wizard's partner: a fluffy, three-eyed cat named Beef Roger Crummchuk. A cynic who grumbles but can be relied on, the "magic master" Beef becomes Billie's partner as she comes to face her own true power. Why can Billie fly? The key to the mystery behind her special power is an astonishing family secret that her mother, Alice, has kept sealed away for many years to protect her daughter.
