TV Anime Rainy Day Serenade Premieres in April 2027! Teaser PV with Character Voices by Yume Miyamoto and Takeo Otsuka Released

The TV anime Rainy Day Serenade will premiere in April 2027, and the first key visual, a teaser PV, and information on the main cast and staff have been unveiled.

Rainy Day Serenade is based on the manga by Haruka Kawachi. It is a bittersweet time-slip romance about Hina Katagiri, a high school girl who finds herself transported to the 40th year of the Meiji era (1907), and her meeting with Takaaki Hongo, a young heir with a sorrowful air. The manga concluded its 11-year serialization in the January 2026 issue of Kiss (published by Kodansha), and a TV anime adaptation for 2027 had been announced.

Yume Miyamoto will voice the protagonist Hina, and Takeo Otsuka will voice Takaaki, as the main cast. Animation production is handled by Tezuka Productions, with Takashi Kamei as director, Yoko Yonaiyama as series composition, and Nobuteru Yuki as character design.

The newly unveiled first key visual is a new illustration by character designer Yuki, depicting Hina and Takaaki standing in a Meiji-era townscape. The teaser PV, which marks the first look at the anime footage, also features the character voices and captures the moment when Hina and Takaaki's story quietly begins to move. Comments from original author Kawachi and the two main cast members have also been released to mark the anime adaptation.

In celebration of the TV anime adaptation and the start of a spin-off serialization, the "Rainy Day Serenade Original Art Exhibition" will be held at Aoyama Book Center Main Store from November 25 to December 8. The venue will feature displays of original manuscripts, original artwork, and rarely seen setting materials, as well as anime-related exhibits, and commemorative merchandise is planned to be on sale. In addition, on Sunday, December 6, a signing event with Kawachi and a special talk show with Kawachi and series composition writer Yonaiyama, among others, will be held at the same venue.
