The two have previously engaged in cooking battles with the program director twice. Okamoto has presented a shocking dish where pan-fried dumplings turned into boiled dumplings, but since they did not know the basics of cooking, this project was carried out to improve their skills. According to Saito, pork miso soup is a dish where one can learn various cooking basics, so the two collaborated to make pork miso soup and rice balls.

Starting with making pork miso soup, the two learned the basics from how to hold a knife, posture, and various ways of cutting ingredients. Okamoto, who showed significant improvement, surprised Seki, saying, "You're doing it really well!" Saito also praised him, saying, "Good, good! I heard you couldn't do it that well," to which Okamoto jokingly replied with a smug face, "I'm serious today. I guess I can do it if I try—how strange," eliciting laughter.

They also learned tricks such as an easy way to peel burdock root and removing oil from fried tofu without boiling water, completing all the preparations. In the subsequent frying and simmering process, they learned points such as the order of adding ingredients and that "since the deliciousness of the ingredients comes out well, it's better to use less stock and miso than you might think," enjoying the cooking process together.
