Risky Ghost Prank a Huge Success! Or Was It...? Real Supernatural Phenomena in Anime "Lycoris Recoil" Episode 4

The popular anime "Lycoris Recoil," which aired in the summer of 2022, has returned as a series of six original short movies. Streaming began on April 16 with "Lycoris Recoil Friends are thieves of time." In Episode 4, Takina Inoue (voiced by Shion Wakayama) is pranked with a ghost scare by Chisato Nishikigi (voiced by Chika Anzai) and others, leading her to freak out and fire her gun indiscriminately. But just when it seemed like it would end with a prank, they were caught up in actual supernatural events, leading to a horror story.

Misled by Chisato and Mizuki Nakahara (voiced by Ami Koshimizu) into believing in "ghostly acts," Takina began checking the security camera footage with Kurumi (voiced by Misaki Kuno). There, she saw Chisato trying to cover up evidence after breaking dishes and Mizuki taking alcohol from the shop without permission.

"I thought it would be something like this," Takina sighed in exasperation. However, the footage revealed something strange. Amidst the usual scenes of the café "LycoReco," an eerie mascot was captured on camera. Upon further inspection, more creepy mascots appeared.

Suddenly, the three mascots seen in the footage appeared behind Takina. Startled, she reflexively fired her gun wildly, revealing Chisato, Mizuki, and Mika (voiced by Kōsuke Sakaki) inside the costumes. It was all revealed to be a prank against Takina. "I thought I was going to die," Takina said, but it was a harrowing prank that made even the pranksters fear for their lives.
