Denken is an elderly court magician who rose to his position through a power struggle. He wields a variety of spells such as "Valdgoze" (Tornado Magic), "Daosdorg" (Magic that Turns Wind into Fiery Flames), and "Catastrovia" (Magic that Emits Judgment Light), handling any situation with composure.

In episode 21, even Denken seems to have run out of options. During the first test of the first-class magician exam, he finally runs out of magic power. Though his party members' magic is also nearly depleted, they still haven't captured the meteoric iron bird (Schtile) needed to pass the test. Yet, Denken remains undeterred, saying, "What would a court magician do in this situation? They'd struggle disgracefully till the end."

In this pinch, Denken and his group spot another party that has secured a meteoric iron bird. When his comrade Richter (voiced by Eiji Hanawa) asks, "What are you planning to do?" Denken suddenly takes off his jacket and says, "Brace yourself. Be a man," before clenching his fist and charging at the opponent with a cry of "Let's fistfight!"
