Who Would Have Thought Frieren Had a “Weakness” Other Than Mimic? In “Frieren: Beyond Journey's End,” Her “Fidgety Confession” Has Fans Saying “She’s Too Cute” and “I Love This Side of Frieren”

In episode 25 of the anime “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End,” an unexpected weakness of the protagonist Frieren (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki) was revealed. When those around her learned about her vulnerability, there was a scene in which Frieren appeared embarrassed and fidgety, causing viewers to flood social networking sites with comments like, “I love this version of Frieren,” and “Her shy reaction is just too irresistible.”

In episode 25, titled “A Fatal Flaw,” the candidates for the First-Class Mage Selection Exam continue to discuss strategies for defeating Frieren’s duplicate. Fern points out that Frieren has a weakness and uses magic to demonstrate it. It is then revealed that, when defending, Frieren’s mana detection is interrupted for just a moment. When someone comments, “Isn’t that a mistake that apprentice mages often make?” Frieren admits that she’s struggled with it since long ago. When Fern presses her, asking, “Why didn’t you tell us?” Frieren, fidgeting awkwardly, replies, “Because it’s embarrassing...”
