Viewers have responded in droves to the sight of Frieren being embarrassed about having her weakness revealed, leaving comments such as, “She’s too cute,” “I love this side of Frieren,” “The fidgeting is the best,” and “Shy Frieren is irresistible.”
The anime “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” is based on the manga of the same title, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. The story takes place in a world after the defeat of the Demon King and follows Frieren—a mage who has lived for over a thousand years—on her journey to better understand humans. The original manga has won multiple awards and enjoys enormous popularity and critical acclaim. With 14 volumes published so far, total copies in circulation have surpassed 24 million. It has also already been announced that the second season of the anime will begin airing in January 2026.
