The smash hit film "The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe" will be broadcast uncut for the first time on terrestrial television on July 12. Additionally, episodes airing in July selected by Toshihiko Seki (voice of Gegerō, Kitarō's Father) and Hidenobu Kiuchi (voice of Mizuki) have been announced. New footage set to the new ending theme has also been unveiled.

"The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe" was released in 2023 as a commemorative work for the 100th anniversary of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki’s birth. This completely new feature-length animated film depicts, for the first time, the secret of Kitarō's birth, the historic meeting between the original Medama Oyaji and Mizuki, as well as the fate their fathers must confront.

The film boasts a solid production team, with Go Koga directing, Hiroyuki Yoshino writing the screenplay, and Touko Yatabe handling character design, among others. The voice cast also features prominent talents who lead the Japanese animation industry, including Miyuki Sawashiro (Kitarō, Kitarō's Mother), Masako Nozawa (Medama Oyaji), and more from the sixth series.

Supported by an overwhelmingly positive fan response, the film won the Excellent Animation of the Year at the 47th Japan Academy Film Prize and was also nominated for the Contrechamp section at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, earning high acclaim both domestically and internationally.

The film "The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe" will be broadcast uncut for the first time on terrestrial television on July 12 (Saturday), from 9:30 PM (note: broadcast time may change due to soccer coverage), during the Saturday Premium (Fuji TV Network) slot.
