The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe to Air for the First Time Uncut on Terrestrial TV July 12 (Saturday), with New Ending Footage Featuring Keisuke Yamauchi & Ringo Sheena Also Released

Additionally, Toshihiko Seki (Gegerō, Kitarō's Father) and Hidenobu Kiuchi (Mizuki) will participate in the Shigeru Mizuki 10th Anniversary Memorial Project “GeGeGe no Kitaro: My Beloved Generations of GeGeGe.” The episode chosen by both as memorable is Episode 14 of the sixth series, "Makuragaeshi and the Phantom Dream," which features Kitarō's father and aired on July 6, prior to the terrestrial broadcast of the film.

The following week, July 13, features the 15th episode, as Eiji Wentz selected Episode 32 of the third series, "Kitaro in Danger! The Great Yokai Court." Wentz shared his reason for choosing this episode: “There aren’t many battle scenes, but you get to see a wide range of characters, and their personalities and traits are highlighted throughout. It’s one of my favorite episodes.” He also commented on the scene where the yokai friends Kitarō helped turn against him—which was adapted into the film as well—saying, “Feelings of understanding and sadness come at the same time,” and revealed that this episode resonates with him emotionally, connecting it to his role as Kitarō in the live-action films "GeGeGe no Kitaro" and "GeGeGe no Kitaro: The Millennium Curse Song."

Episode 16, airing July 20, will be Episode 34 of the fourth series, "Wandering! Azuki Togi the Yokai," chosen by Yoko Matsuoka, who voiced Kitarō in the fourth series. Episode 17, airing July 27, features Episode 54 of the sixth series, "Dorotabo, Life, and the Land," selected by Miyuki Sawashiro, who voiced Kitarō in both the sixth series and "The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe."
