■Masaya Fukunishi Shows a “Half” Doya Face

Next, Fukunishi tried the “Double Bottle Flip.” Attempting to land two water-filled plastic bottles upright at the same time, he only managed to get one to stand. Following Morikubo’s instruction of “Blank! Blank! Blank!” he showed a blank face rather than a doya face despite partially succeeding. Then, Morikubo said, “It’s okay to make a ‘half doya’ face,” prompting Fukunishi to demonstrate a technique by showing a half doya, half blank expression.

Morikubo also took on the “Hole-in-One Putt-Putt Golf” challenge, mentioning, “I don’t play golf at all,” before attempting his one shot and missing. Alongside Okamoto, he displayed a neutral expression. Okamoto then tried the putt-putt challenge, succeeded in one shot, and gave a proud doya face. He commented, “If you’re the company president, you have to know golf!” and the atmosphere in the studio grew lively.

Fukunishi challenged the “Sponge Sword Catch.” However, before the sponge sword was swung down, Morikubo prematurely moved the sword, making Fukunishi laugh, then return to a blank face, saying, “Don’t ignore the countdown!”

So far, Morikubo and Okamoto had each succeeded once in the doya face challenges. To support Fukunishi, who had yet to clear a stage, they suggested, “How about kendama?” and aimed for him to succeed at “Tomeken” (the basic kendama spike). Since Fukunishi seemed unsure of the method, Okamoto taught him the steps, while Morikubo commented, “I don’t get the sense that you’ll be able to do this at all...” Fukunishi’s anxiety proved correct, and his attempt ended in failure. Okamoto then succeeded at “Tomeken” in a single try, showing off a smug doya face. Fukunishi remarked, “You did it so smoothly! Now I feel pathetic!”

Finally, Fukunishi took on the “One-Handed Raw Egg Crack.” However, he tried to crush the egg with his palm, surprising Okamoto, who exclaimed, “What are you doing!?” and Morikubo interjected as well. Okamoto and Morikubo demonstrated, first tapping the center of the egg gently against the edge of the table to crack it. Watching the two succeed, Fukunishi muttered, “Wait... both of you can do it...” Afterward, Fukunishi also succeeded, flashed a doya face, and reflected: “Aaaah! I’m so relieved! I really felt pathetic... The pressure was crazy, seriously—when I failed at the kendama, my heart almost broke!”
