“Tougen Anki” is based on the popular manga by Yura Urushibara, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion (Akita Shoten). Drawing inspiration from the well-known Japanese folktale Momotaro, it is a new generation dark hero demon story depicting clashes between those with demon blood and those with Momotaro blood. The story begins when Shiki, a boy who lived as a normal human, is suddenly attacked by a mysterious man from the “Momotaro Agency.”

Episode 3 "Blood Corruption Unleash"
[Synopsis]
It’s the first day at Rakshasa Academy. The new students, including Shiki, play a game of tag against Naito Mudano. Despite the rule that losers will be immediately expelled, Shiki is provoked by Jin Kōgasaki, who was also selected for Team 1, and initiates a fight right from the start. Struggling against Jin’s demon power, “Blood Corruption Unleash,” Shiki tries to use his own demon power but fails. Frustrated and cornered, Shiki faces defeat as Jin moves in for the final blow, confident of his victory. Suddenly, Homare Byobugaura, a member of their team, darts between the two. Witnessing the injured Shiki, who protected her, Homare is so shocked that she activates the uncontrollable “Blood Giant.” Overwhelmingly strong, the Blood Giant forces both Shiki and Jin to fight defensively.
