"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the latest installment in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series that began in 1979. The story follows Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), a high school girl living peacefully on a space colony, who becomes entangled in the illegal mobile suit dueling competition "Clan Battle" after meeting the mysterious girl Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa).

The series has generated buzz due to its joint production by Studio Khara, known for the "Rebuild of Evangelion" films, and Sunrise. Its theatrical premiere, held in advance of the TV series this January, was a massive hit, drawing approximately 3.4 billion yen at the box office. Even after the broadcast of all 12 episodes concluded in June of this year, new merchandise continues to be released, and the original soundtrack is set for release on August 27, keeping fan interest high. In July, a special event was also held as part of North America's largest anime convention, Anime Expo 2025, in Los Angeles.
