“Tougen Anki” is an anime adaptation of the popular manga by Yura Urushibara, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten). Using the well-known Japanese folktale “Momotaro” as its motif, it portrays a new generation of dark hero stories depicting the conflict between those who inherit the blood of Oni and those who inherit the blood of Momotaro. The story begins with a boy who has been living as a human, Shiki, suddenly being attacked by a mysterious man from the Momotaro Agency.

Episode 9: “Momotaro Spirit”
[Synopsis]
Facing Shiki, Momomiya declares he will fight seriously. When he opens the “coffin,” a Momotaro emerges from inside. Outraged by the use of even a comrade as a puppet, Shiki is told by Momomiya that the corpse himself wished to become a puppet. Using the power of the puppet Momotaro to manipulate gravity, Momomiya corners Shiki. Meanwhile, Mudano returns to the Kyoto Branch and ponders how to deal with the entrance blocked by Yomogi’s ability. Forcibly destroying it with Mudano’s strength could cause the ground to crumble and endanger people on the surface. At that moment, students Juji Yusurube and Homare join him. By using Homare's power to fake an earthquake, they begin evacuating people nearby. Simultaneously, the battle between Kōgasaki and Yomogi also unfolds. Kōgasaki is overwhelmed by Yomogi’s tactics and ends up trapped inside a box.
