Despair Turns to Relief and Joy, and a “Good Morning” Echoes in the Midst of Sorrow! The Moment Nezuko Conquered the Sun is One of the Best Scenes in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba"

In the final episode of the "Swordsmith Village Arc" of the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," a miracle happens to the demon Nezuko (voiced by Akari Kitō) as despair suddenly turns to hope. The scene in which Nezuko, having finally conquered the sun, smiles and says "Good morning" is one of the most iconic moments in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba."

In Episode 11, the finale of the "Swordsmith Village Arc," day breaks during the fierce battle with Hantengu, the Upper Rank Four demon (voiced by Toshio Furukawa). If a demon is exposed to sunlight, their body burns and they disappear, and this is true for Nezuko as well.

Standing before the suffering Nezuko, her older brother Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) is torn between chasing after Hantengu or protecting his sister—a painful choice. At that moment, Nezuko kicks Tanjirō away, urging him to pursue Hantengu. Afterwards, Tanjirō succeeds in decapitating Hantengu but is devastated, thinking, "I came all this way to turn Nezuko back into a human, for that reason... for that reason..."

However, when he turns around, he sees Nezuko standing in the morning light! Since becoming a demon, Nezuko had lost the ability to speak, but she faces Tanjirō with a smile and says, "G-Good morning." When Tanjirō asks, "Thank goodness... Are you alright?" Nezuko, still speaking clumsily, replies, "Y-Yes. I-I'm fine." Tanjirō hugs Nezuko and, in tears, says, "I thought you were dead! Thank goodness, Nezuko, I'm so glad you're safe!"
