The eerie atmosphere emanating from (Hōchū) Ōtsuka-san, who plays Lieutenant Tsurumi, could be felt even when standing in front of the microphone next to him. It wasn't exactly bloodlust, but rather a mixture of various emotions including quiet anger, sadness, and madness all intertwined, yet there was an aura that you couldn't see through completely, and I felt it intensely.

——It's a famous scene that delves into what could be called the core of the "Golden Kamuy" story, isn't it?

Shiraishi: Precisely because we had built everything together up to that point, it felt like the answer we had reached at the end. When Asirpa-san was placed in that situation, she was standing side by side with Sofia, but in her heart, the presence of Sugimoto and Shiraishi was also there, so I myself felt a sense of reassurance during the dubbing session.

——On the other hand, Sugimoto and Shiraishi trying to rush to Asirpa's side had more of a comedic relief aspect, so to speak (laughs).

Kobayashi: That's another characteristic of "Golden Kamuy," isn't it? It doesn't go completely serious.

——From Shiraishi's perspective, the exchanges with Pirate Bōtarō are also a highlight, aren't they?

Itō: The Abashiri scene came in for the first time in a while, and through the exchanges with Bōtarō, whom he had known since that time, the character's background became visible.

Kobayashi: Nihei appeared too.

Itō: The flow of conversation where Shiraishi responds straightforwardly to Bōtarō's lines without joking around was incredibly fresh for me. It was a moment when his position and determination solidified—to entrust the words he received from Bōtarō to Sugimoto and Asirpa without hiding anything.
