The anime "GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class" is based on the spin-off novel "Gintama: 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei" from the wildly popular manga "Gintama" by Hideaki Sorachi. The original manga, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) and other publications from 2003 to 2019, achieved a cumulative worldwide circulation (including digital editions) of 73 million copies, and its TV anime, theatrical anime, and live-action films were all well received. "GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class" is a school comedy set in Class 3-Z of Gintama High School, featuring familiar characters led by homeroom teacher Ginpachi Sakata (CV: Tomokazu Sugita).
