The anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday," with original story by Kanehito Yamada and artwork by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world "after" the Demon King was defeated, it's a story about Frieren, a mage who has lived for over 1000 years, embarking on a "journey to understand people." The original comic has received high praise, winning numerous awards, and has surpassed 32 million copies in cumulative circulation. It has been decided that the second season of the television anime will begin airing on January 16, 2026. To commemorate the broadcast of the second season, two official fanbooks, "The Magic of Understanding Frieren & Himmel" and "The Magic of Understanding Fern & Stark," will be released simultaneously from Shogakukan on December 18.
