The Apothecary Diaries is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Natsu Hyūga. It is a massive hit that has also been adapted into a manga series published in two monthly magazines. The show has gained significant popularity and buzz for its mystery-solving episodes featuring Maomao, who ends up working as a "poison taster" in the inner palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to the second season, and the third season has been announced to be broadcast over two split cours, starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the first film in the series is scheduled for release in December 2026.
