The Apothecary Diaries is an anime adaptation of the hit light novel series by Hyuganatsu, which has also seen successful manga adaptations across two monthly magazines and a manga app. The series has garnered massive popularity for its mystery-solving elements featuring Maomao, the "poison tester" of the Rear Palace, and her comical banter with Jinshi. Following the conclusion of Season 2, it has been announced that Season 3 will be a split 2-cour season, premiering in October 2026 and April 2027.
