In the latter half of the show, they challenged themselves to calligraphy, and the two exclaimed "Ooh!" at the giant calligraphy set prepared in the studio. They were to write this year's theme, and first Hanae took up the brush.

Hanae, who was really into it along with the Japanese-style BGM, proceeded with powerful strokes while occasionally adding shouts, and what he completed was the dollar sign "$". He explained, "At first I thought 'Let's go with S-rank fortune this year' and was writing an S, but the ink started dripping, so I made it a dollar sign." Ono, on the other hand, suffered the accident of applying too much ink, but muttering "Leave it to me," he managed to finish writing the character "任" (nin). He said, "We're getting more junior colleagues too, so this year I want people to think 'I'm glad I entrusted this to him after all,'" and looking at their calligraphy, he showed a bright expression saying "Writing really pumps you up."

The show also featured "Let's Play Board Games!" where they played casual board games that could be enjoyed in a New Year's mood, since it was the first broadcast of the new year. Hanae chose "Hiragana Mahjong Hiragajan [Tile Version]," which he was already familiar with, and the game started with three people including staff. This is a mahjong-style board game where you use hiragana tiles to complete two-character and three-character words, with simple rules where whoever completes the designated hand first wins.

As soon as the tiles were arranged, Hanae silently began making words and showed a good start, saying "This might be going pretty well." After one round, he suddenly completed seven two-character words, shouted "Tsumo!", and easily won. When they reset and started another round, this time everyone struggled with dakuten (voiced consonant marks) and had trouble winning. A staff member who aligned two-character words like Hanae in the first round won.

When Hanae asked "How were you doing, Kensho-san?", Ono lined up several three-character words, and it was revealed that he had been trying to use the forbidden technique of converting "ji" (じ) to "di" (ぢ) to make "pe-di" (ペーぢ, "page"). Hanae burst out laughing, saying "That's so unfair~!" Viewers also got excited about the sudden appearance of gyaru language, commenting "There was a gyaru lol" and "Gyaru-ish Kensho-san."
