Based on the manga created by Masamune Shirow in 1989, the Ghost in the Shell anime series continues to expand globally to this day, including Mamoru Oshii’s 1995 masterpiece GHOST IN THE SHELL.

The "Ghost and the Shell" exhibition is currently held at TOKYO NODE in Toranomon Hills until Sunday, April 5, 2026. This exhibition brings together over 1,600 production materials from the entire history of the Ghost in the Shell anime series. Visitors can experience a glimpse into the "Cyberbrain" world—which continues to inspire creators across the globe—through a series of uniquely curated and immersive displays.

In addition to GHOST IN THE SHELL, the lineup includes titles from the 2000s that are surely familiar to any anime fan, such as the 2004 film Innocence, as well as Director Kenji Kamiyama’s Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society.

Furthermore, the exhibition covers the series from the 2010s to the 2020s, including Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, and the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 series. A major highlight is the inclusion of production materials from the latest installment, The Ghost in the Shell, which is set to premiere in July 2026—offering fans a rare sneak peek at the new series even before its broadcast.

The venue at TOKYO NODE is divided into three sections—Galleries A, B, and C—each offering a unique experience. Upon entering GALLERY A, you are greeted by an area reminiscent of the "Cyberbrain" space depicted throughout the Ghost in the Shell series. Surrounded by countless scene cuts from across the franchise drifting through a digital void, you’ll find yourself instantly immersed in the world of Ghost in the Shell.
