——How was it facing Kamui again after a while with Ginga-san and Hōchū Ōtsuka-san, who plays Abuto?

Hino: Regarding Abuto, we've been working together throughout the long series, so it wasn't really "after a while," but confronting Hōsen only happened during the battles in "Yoshiwara in Flames," so I really felt a sense of excitement on set about being able to face Hōsen, played by Banjō-san, again.

——As expected, did you get fired up when performing the scenes confronting Hōsen?

Hino: Of course I had my own intensity as a performer, but in the true sense, Kamui doesn't really go all out until later in the series, so at this point I interpreted and performed it as him still observing how Hōsen would act, not yet at full power.

So, if anything, I thought Kamui's tension level was more like checking how much of a power gap existed between Hōsen and himself, discovering interesting warriors like Gin-san and other samurai, and then wondering what kind of person had seduced Hōsen and turned the pride of the warrior race into something spineless—that kind of feeling.
