"I've Never Heard Her Voice Like This Before" - Fans Shocked as Akane Rages at Aqua and Tears Up Over "Words of Separation," Anime "Oshi No Ko" Episode 31

Episode 31 of the anime "Oshi No Ko" aired on February 25th (broadcasting sequentially). Akane Kurokawa's (CV: Manaka Iwami) anguished cry towards Aqua (CV: Takeo Otsuka) shocked fans, with comments like "I've never heard Akane-chan's voice like this before, it's amazing..." and "I can't keep up with the emotions."

Akane had been independently investigating the incident in which Ai (CV: Rie Takahashi), Aqua's mother and a popular idol who was also her boyfriend's mother, passed away. In Episode 31 "Breakup," she was concealing a knife and attempting to meet the person who was likely the mastermind. Then Aqua appeared. In fact, Aqua had anticipated that Akane might make contact with the mastermind and had planted a GPS tag in her keychain.

When Akane noticed the GPS tag, she flew into a rage: "This is wrong. This isn't something you should do." She cried out in anguish: "You always said you'd let me cooperate, right? If you'd just told me, I would have let you put hundreds of these on me! I'm not Aqua-kun's pet or object! I'm a human being! This is proof that you don't see me as human!"

However, Aqua calmly pointed out that Akane had been concealing a knife, asking "What were you planning to do with this?" Though Akane insisted the knife was merely for self-defense, Aqua pushed her away, saying "Don't get involved anymore" and "I won't have anything to do with you again either. Stop doing dangerous things." With tears welling up in her eyes, Akane said "If you'd asked me to come with you, I would have gone to hell with you," but Aqua's resolve remained unchanged: "I have no intention whatsoever of taking Akane to such a place."

And as Aqua began walking the path of revenge alone, the abandoned Akane shed tears, saying "I... couldn't save you... Whether it's ego or anything else, I wanted to save you..."
