—"Wanting to create a secret" is a great interpretation. It’s exactly that kind of depth that makes Runako’s mystery so charming compared to Shio or Akari. The fact that she has fewer monologues probably adds to the feeling that we can't see her inner thoughts.

Hiratsuka: Yes. I remember thinking it was rare to see a monologue for Runako when I first read the script.

—She’s not the type to get all fidgety and nervous about how to approach him, right?

Hiratsuka: Not at all. She just acts on the spot.

—It’s not quite "tsun" or "dere," but that difficulty in reading her emotional nuances is what makes her mysterious. On the acting side, do you find it easier to grasp a character when they have monologues?

Hiratsuka: Well, since it took me a while to understand Runako myself, I do think having monologues makes it easier. I felt that mysterious side of her too, and what she's thinking in her heart depends entirely on your imagination and interpretation.

—I feel like I understand Runako much better now. Thank you very much!
