An event report has arrived from the premiere screening of the anime "Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movement," which was held on April 15 at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo.
"Sound! Euphonium" is a wind orchestra anime series produced by Kyoto Animation. Since the first season of the TV anime began broadcasting in April 2015, the series has produced theatrical films, special episodes, and spin-off movies, celebrating its 10th anniversary last year. The series will reach its grand conclusion with "Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movement," scheduled for release on April 24, 2026. For this work, screenwriter Jukki Hanada wrote an entirely new script, adding numerous new scenes, including performance sequences that were not depicted in the TV series.
Following the screening, a stage greeting was held featuring Tomoyo Kurosawa (voice of Kumiko Omae), Ayaka Asai (voice of Hazuki Kato), Moe Toyota (voice of Sapphire Kawashima), Chika Anzai (voice of Reina Kousaka), Haruka Tomatsu (voice of Mayu Kuroe), and Director Taichi Ogawa. Ordinarily, a post-screening stage greeting would allow for talk without worrying about spoilers; however, since the talk segment was being live-streamed on YouTube that day, spoilers were strictly forbidden. Nevertheless, it was an event where everyone enjoyed sharing their feelings with the audience who had just finished watching the film.
