To celebrate Shizuka-chan’s birth month in May and the theatrical release of "Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō" in Vietnam starting Friday, May 22, a special episode titled "The Present is a Trip to Vietnam" will air on Saturday, May 23, celebrating her birthday set against the backdrop of Vietnam.

"Doraemon" is an anime series based on the hugely popular manga by Fujiko F. Fujio. It depicts the friendship and daily lives of Doraemon, a cat-shaped robot from the future who pulls mysterious "Secret Gadgets" out of his 4D pocket, and Nobita, who struggles with both academics and sports, along with their friends.

"Doraemon" has previously aired world-themed special episodes such as "I Want to Meet That Cat (in Thailand)" and "Spending New Year's Eve in Spain." "The Present is a Trip to Vietnam" marks the third installment in this series.

In the special episode "The Present is a Trip to Vietnam," Nobita suggests, "Let’s make your birthday present a trip to Vietnam," after Shizuka mentions she would like to visit someday. He goes to ask Doraemon, thinking they can manage it using the "Anywhere Door," but is told it is impossible because it is "currently under repair."

Pushed by a desperately distressed Nobita, how will Doraemon manage to make the trip to Vietnam a reality? And what is it that Shizuka wants to experience there? This episode is full of highlights. Famous Vietnamese tourist spots such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the World Heritage site Ha Long Bay, and the Dragon Bridge appear one after another. Shizuka wearing the traditional Vietnamese dress, the Ao Dai, and the Secret Gadget "Translation Gummy (Banh Mi Flavor)" are also must-sees.
