Akane’s Resolve Takes the Top Spot! Top 3 Most Commented Scenes from Episode 1 of the "Akane-banashi" Anime

The official ABEMA Anime X account has announced the Top 3 most commented-on scenes from the broadcast of Episode 1, "That Day," of Akane-banashi.

Based on the "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue, Akane-banashi is an authentic Rakugo story. It follows Akane Osaki, a girl captivated by her father's "magical" Rakugo performances while growing up. Following the life-altering events surrounding her father's Shin'uchi (master rank) promotion exam, Akane dives into the world of Rakugo herself, aiming to reach the highest rank of Shin'uchi in her own right.

The series has earned high praise for carving out a fresh genre in shonen manga, depicting the intense drama of performers who stake their lives on the art of storytelling. The TV anime, which began airing in April 2026, features a star-studded cast including Anna Nagase (as Akane Osaki), Takuya Eguchi (as Karashi Nerimaya), Rie Takahashi (as Hikaru Koragi), and Akihisa Shiono (as Kaisei Arakawa). Fans and critics alike are turning their eyes toward the deep world of Rakugo and the serious drama brought to life through animation.

ABEMA conducted an independent survey of the scenes that garnered the most viewer engagement during the premiere of Episode 1, "That Day," on Saturday, April 4th. These results were released on the official ABEMA Anime X account as the "Top 3 Most Commented Scenes from Akane-banashi Episode 1."
