Comments from the Main Staff and Cast
For an author, a "media mix" is a truly grateful thing. I was honored when the series was adapted into a live-action drama and a film. If I’m being greedy, I’ve always had a quiet desire to see it as a TV anime, but I kept writing the original story thinking it would only happen if I were incredibly lucky. To see that wish become a reality leaves me deeply moved.
The staff and cast are approaching the original work with such sincerity that I feel completely at ease entrusting it to them. I am very much looking forward to the broadcast.
◆ Original Illustrator: Hagu Koshijima
Sometimes you can feel a scent or an atmosphere just from visual information, and that was exactly the case with the teaser PV for the TV anime Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files. Watching it reminds me of Kita-Kamakura, which I visited for research. It was a hot day just before the start of the rainy season. As a viewer myself, I am very excited to see the full series!
◆ Director: Mamoru Kambe
One of my hobbies is photography. I love photos themselves, but I also love the equipment. In essence, any gear will do for a photo, but using equipment you're fond of feels good.
After doing this for many years, I’ve realized something: I find myself looking for lenses that don't quite capture things "correctly"—ones that are dark around the edges or have a bit of a blur. But that’s what makes it interesting.
I might not be easily understood, but I think people with similar tastes will smile and say, "Yeah, I get it; that’s nice."
◆ Assistant Director: Ayako Kurata
It is an honor to be involved in the production of Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files! I believe this work will make you feel time in a way that is relaxed yet passes by in a flash. Please wait patiently for the broadcast!
◆ Series Composition: Toshiya Ono
I knew the title, of course, but I had never read Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files. When I was asked to write the script and finally read it, I felt something beyond nostalgia—a sense of loneliness, wondering if this kind of atmosphere even exists anywhere anymore.
I worked on this with the desire to "permanently preserve" as an anime the purity, the modesty, the thoughtfulness, and the hidden fervor lurking beneath it all. In such a harsh era, I believe this will appear fresh and resonate deeply. Please look forward to it.
◆ Character Design & Chief Animation Director: Jun Nakai
I first learned of this work because I was captivated by Shioriko-san's profile in the original illustrations. I’m looking forward to expressing her in animation. Working with the rest of the staff, I want to carefully depict the characters while valuing the acting and expressions unique to anime. I hope to approach this with joy, so please lend us your support.
◆ Music: Takahiro Obata
This is my fourth project working with Director Kambe, and I am delighted to be moving forward with such a wonderful staff and cast.
I composed the music while sharing various ideas with Director Kambe on how to express the world of Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files through sound. I hope you will pay close attention to the music as well.
◆ Shioriko Shinokawa: Riko Akechi
I will never forget my first encounter with Shioriko-san; it was when I was in my first year of junior high. I saw the revolving bookshelf where paperbacks were lined up, just to the right of the library entrance. Even now, I remember being enchanted by the profile of the beautiful woman I saw through that glass.
I already felt lucky enough just to get an audition, so receiving the news that I passed was a "major incident" for me. I am truly proud to play a part in this work. I will do my absolute best, so thank you very much.
◆ Daisuke Goura: Shunsuke Takeuchi
This series has seen various media adaptations, and finally, it’s an anime! The characters are very realistic, and you really get drawn into the world. Personally, I love handling old books, so hearing Shioriko’s thoughts on them makes me want to sit down and read for a while.
Armed with his sincere nature and trademark physique—Go, Daisuke! Go!
