The "Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-" series is based on the popular MF Bunko J novels (Original work: Tappei Nagatsuki / Illustrations: Shinichirō Ōtsuka). It is a dark fantasy following Subaru, who is suddenly transported to another world and uses his "Return by Death" ability to rewind time upon dying, facing his harsh destiny.
The first season of the anime aired in 2016, becoming a massive hit that led to a second season and OVAs. The third season was broadcast in split parts: "Attack Arc" in 2024 and "Counterattack Arc" in 2025.

[Synopsis]
Subaru, who was transported underground beneath the dunes due to a spatial distortion caused by Yin Magic, is woken up by Ram. Although he reunites with Eridona and Patrasche, they are separated from Emilia, Rem, Beatrice, and the others. While the safety of Rem—who is unable to move due to the twins' synesthesia—could be confirmed, no exit was found nearby. To reunite with everyone, Subaru and the others begin to move through the underground passage, where there is no wind, the temperature is low, and only the sound of their footsteps on the sand echoes.
