[Photos/Images] Fans react with joy to intimate scene where you can almost hear their breathing! "Rent-A-Girlfriend" production art release earns praise: "Of course, this iconic scene was kappe's work" 1st

Animator and character designer kappe (Kanna Hirayama) has shared images from the anime’s production process on X, sparking a huge conversation among fans.

Hirayama updated her X account with the message, "#彼女お借りします 5期5話(53話)より、監修です (RentAGirlfriend: Supervision/Correction from Season 5 Episode 5 (Episode 53),)" posting images for her "#かのかり総作監集 (KanokariChiefADCollection,)" which compiles her correction work as the Chief Animation Director.

Attached to the post is the original production art (genga) of a close-up scene where Chizuru Mizuhara (CV: Sora Amamiya) and Kazuya Kinoshita (CV: Shun Horie) in swimwear are face-to-face. The cuts show Chizuru placing her hand on the cheek of Kazuya, who is wide-eyed and blushing intensely, as well as a full-body shot highlighting her beautiful proportions as she stands on her tiptoes to kiss him. The art retains detailed instructions for the animation process, such as "gradation on hair tips" and "rim light on back hair," as well as color-coded lines, providing a precious behind-the-scenes look at the meticulous craftsmanship.

The anime "Rent-A-Girlfriend" is a popular series based on the romantic comedy manga of the same name by Reiji Miyajima. The story begins when Kazuya, a pathetic college student, uses a "Rental Girlfriend" service out of loneliness after his first girlfriend breaks up with him. He meets Chizuru, a stunningly beautiful and perfect "Ren-kano" (rental girlfriend), and their relationship—starting from a lie—develops alongside a cast of unique heroines in a comical yet dramatic way.

In response to this post, fans have showered the artwork with praise, with comments such as "I have nothing but pure respect for these art skills!", "Princess Chizuru from behind looks stunning," "The way the key scenes are presented is just incredible," "Of course, this iconic scene was kappe-san's work," and "Thank you, thank you so much." The reactions were filled with admiration for the overwhelming art quality, joy over the reveal of iconic scenes, and high expectations for future developments.
