Shōri Satō (timelesz) / Role of Makoto Natsume
timelesz's "Kienai Hanabi" has been chosen as the theme song for the movie Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to. Since the film is truly wonderful, I felt a lot of pressure... But just as Makoto and Aki were destined to meet, I was able to encounter this song. I can deliver it to you with absolute confidence.
Fireworks may only shine for a fleeting moment. However, the feelings they evoke remain deep within our hearts forever. I believe we've created a theme song that captures that essence. I truly hope it reaches you all.
Rie Takahashi / Role of Haru
I was deeply honored to be entrusted with such an interesting and strong-willed character. Through this project, I've come to learn a lot about Nagaoka myself, so delivering it in the form of a theatrical animation that many people will see gives me a sense of mission. Since it was my first time trying the Nagaoka dialect, I first studied it using the guide audio in the post-recording footage, and on the actual day, we proceeded with the recording while having people from Nagaoka check it.
During the recording, we worked on nuances like phrases that some people in Nagaoka say while others don't, and for newly added lines, they demonstrated them for me. It was an intense and rich experience recording while staying close to the spirit of Nagaoka! Looking at the description for Haru, the character I play, it says, "Apparently, she wandered in from the past"...! It's a mysterious but very straightforward and heartfelt story. Please share the same moment in time with them at the theater.
Natsuko Yokosawa / Role of Yukari Natsume
I am incredibly honored to participate in such a wonderful project set in my hometown of Niigata. I played the role of Makoto's mother, and during the recording, I was told to envision her as a working mom who is passionately dedicated to her career as a hair and makeup artist. I felt a bit nervous about whether I could project a voice that always watches over her son while balancing work. I was deeply moved by my son's straightforwardness, and I hope I can give him a good push forward. I hope Makoto's full-throttle sprint and his passionate feelings reach many people.
