Chrome's Tearful Plea for a Happy Ending! Senku and Others Moved by His Emotional Cry: "It Really Hit Me," "I Can't Stop Crying" — Anime "Dr. STONE" Season 4 Episode 32

In Episode 32 of the anime "Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE," which aired on May 21, Chrome (voiced by Gen Sato), striving for a "happy ending where everyone stands together," tearfully persuaded Senkū Ishigami (voiced by Yūsuke Kobayashi) and the others in a scene that deeply moved viewers, drawing comments like, "His cracking voice during that cry was amazing," and "I seriously cried."

To counter Whyman on the moon, Senku is rushing the construction of a rocket. However, his plan meant that the members heading to the moon would take a one-way rocket, and after completing their mission, they would use the petrification device to wait for a rescue team that would eventually come.

Learning of Senku's plan and refusing to sacrifice anyone, Chrome teamed up with Suika (voiced by Karin Takahashi) and resolved to build a round-trip rocket instead. However, making a rocket capable of a round trip meant it would be about five times larger than a one-way rocket, presenting a major issue: it would take too much time to build and test multiple prototypes until safety could be guaranteed. Yet, in Episode 32, "Challengers of Science," Chrome finally had a flash of inspiration and proposed to Senku and the others, "We can launch the round-trip rocket in five separate sections and assemble them in space!"

In response to Chrome's idea, Senku and Dr. Zeno (voiced by Kenji Nojima) replied that while it was viable as an idea, realizing it would require a vast number of parts. Hearing this, Chrome spoke up, "If you're saying there's even a single chance, let's let everyone vote anonymously to decide which side has more supporters, the one-way faction or the round-trip faction!!" Then, with tears welling up in his eyes, he pleaded, "Isn't that what it means for all of us in the Kingdom of Science to join forces and build this together...!!!"

Thus, Senku and the others decided to choose between the one-way rocket and the round-trip rocket through an anonymous majority vote. The result was a victory for the round-trip rocket. Afterward, when SAI (voiced by Seiichirō Yamashita) checked the vote count, it was revealed that every single vote had been cast for the round-trip rocket, showing that even Senku and Dr. Zeno, who had been pushing the one-way rocket plan, were deeply moved by Chrome's words.
