Anime "The Cat and the Dragon" to Begin Broadcasting on July 4! First PV Released; Yū Serizawa as Haneko, Makoto Koichi as Prince, Kazuya Ichijō as King

The TV anime "The Cat and the Dragon" will begin broadcasting sequentially on TOKYO MX and other stations from July 4. Along with the release of the first PV, the fourth batch of cast members has been revealed: Yū Serizawa will play Haneko, Makoto Koichi will play Prince, and Kazuya Ichijō will play King.

The series is based on the novel and comic "The Cat and the Dragon" (written by Amara, character draft by Mai Ohkuma, and manga by Izumi Sasaki) currently published by Takarajimasha, which has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 1.4 million copies. It is a fantasy work depicted in an omnibus format, telling a story of mysterious bonds woven by a dragon raised by cats, the cats themselves, and humans.

The released first PV includes scenes where the Nekoryū in dragon form visits a human city, Shirotae (CV: Fūka Izumi) expressing her desire to go outside the forest, and Haneko (CV: Yū Serizawa) wanting to teach magic to a human child, making it a video that conveys the relationship between the Nekoryū and humans. In addition, the character voices for Haneko, Prince (CV: Makoto Koichi), and King (CV: Kazuya Ichijō) were also unveiled for the first time in this PV.

Regarding their appearance in this work, Serizawa commented, "I also recorded my lines with lots of love for cats!", Koichi remarked, "It's a story where you can feel the importance of trying to know and understand the other person while being healed by its kindness," and Ichijō added, "Please enjoy the relaxed style, the gentle characters, and the soft-flowing atmosphere."
