[Photos/Images] "Yōji Matsuda?!" SNS Abuzz Over Additional Cast! "I Got Goosebumps" and "Sooooo Amazing" for "The World Is Dancing" PV 1st

From the official X account for the "The World Is Dancing" anime, a portion of the insert song from the main PV "Utai" Edition has been released pre-broadcast, garnering huge attention.

In the post, the singing voices of Oniyasha (CV: Yumiri Hanamori) and Zojiro (CV: Romi Park), who are in charge of the utai (chanting), were showcased. Along with this, the additional cast was also announced, revealing the appearances of Dog King (CV: Yōji Matsuda) and Shirabyoshi (CV: Miyuki Sawashiro). Furthermore, the latest information, including the sequential broadcast starting from July 2 on nine stations nationwide and the confirmation of distribution on various platforms, was announced along with a YouTube link.

In the released video, while the powerful insert song sung by the cast echoes, words that affirm one's uniqueness and individuality are spoken by Dog King, such as "I heard the words of the flowers" and "You have your own goodness." Moreover, the earnest wish of Shirabyoshi, "I want to stand on a glamorous stage just once," and their lonely emotions, such as "There are no human shadows in such a lonely world," are also expressed. Combined with the production that evokes a traditional Japanese worldview, it has become a dense PV where the characters' emotions strike the heart.

The TV anime "The World Is Dancing" is a story about Oniyasha, a boy born into a family that performs Sarugaku—the precursor to "Noh" and "Kyogen"—who meets various people and shapes a new style of dance. The original work is a manga of the same name by Kazuto Mihara, serialized in "Morning." Although the comic spans only six volumes, it is a masterpiece that garnered attention for its storytelling perfection and the depth of its themes, which still resonate today.

In response to this pre-release, fans commented, "Yōji Matsuda?!?! Is this perhaps the first time I've seen him appear in a weekly anime series?? Or is it just me who didn't know??" As Matsuda is a renowned actor widely known for roles such as Asbel in the movie "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" and Ashitaka in "Princess Mononoke," many fans seem unable to hide their surprise at the announcement of his appearance in this TV anime. Furthermore, numerous comments admiring the quality of the video and the gorgeous cast have been received, such as "I got goosebumps from the PV," "The voice cast is way too luxurious!!", and "Sooooo amazing. So amazing. I love it already."
