[Photos/Images] "Smug-faced Yanami-san" "Like a warrior race" Sweeping Roast Over Her Attempt to Open a Beef Hot Pot Stall at the School Festival in "Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!" 1st

A manga panel has been released on the official X account of the original "Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!" light novel, and a character's magnificent smug face has become a hot topic.

In the image, the character Anna Yanami appears, crossing her arms with a supremely confident "smug face." This is a panel from a scene where the Literature Club is discussing their attraction for the school festival, depicting her pushing hard for "beef hot pot" simply because she wants to eat it herself. It features a monologue from the protagonist, Kazuhiko Nukumizu, against a backdrop of intense focus lines: "Is this girl... could she be planning to open a beef hot pot stall at the school festival...!?" It is accompanied by a calm, sharp remark in a speech bubble at the bottom left: "That pose looks like someone saying, 'My dream for the future is to become a ramen shop manager.'" This makes it a distinctive panel that humorously expresses the gap between her gluttonous personality and the situation.

"Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!" is a chaotic, losing-heroine youth story based on the light novel of the same name by Takibi Amamori, currently published under Shogakukan's "Gagaga Bunko" imprint. It follows a high school protagonist who gets entangled with slightly disappointing "losing heroines" who failed to win the position of their crushes' lovers. The original work won the Gagaga Prize at the 15th Shogakukan Light Novel Award and was adapted into a TV anime in July 2024.

In response to this post, various reactions have poured in on social media, such as "A high school girl who wants to open a beef hot pot stall at a school festival...?!", "Yanami-san's aura has become like a warrior race from some planet...", "Smug-faced Yanami-san", "She looks like she wants to say, 'Welcome to my shop!' (lol)", and "Doesn't she just want to eat it herself rather than running a food stall?"
