A hand-drawn animation celebrating the 1st anniversary of the anime was posted on manga artist Taizan 5's X account, sparking a massive conversation among fans.
The video features a rough yet warm touch, composed entirely of black-and-white line art. At the beginning, a short-haired girl, Shizuka Kuze (CV: Reina Ueda), slowly turns around from a rear view to face forward, showing a somewhat melancholy and quiet expression. Shortly after, a sudden gust of wind blows, and alongside the hand-drawn words "1st Anniversary," Takopi (CV: Kurumi Mamiya) comes flying in with great momentum. As the wind dies down, Takopi climbs up Shizuka's shoulder, and just as he is about to fall, Shizuka catches him against her chest. The video concludes with a shot of them facing forward and smiling warmly, while congratulatory messages reading "Anime" and "Congratulations" appear around them.
"Takopi's Original Sin" is a story that begins when Takopi, a Happy Alien who descended to Earth to spread happiness, meets Shizuka, a girl with complicated circumstances at school and home who rarely smiles. Although Takopi scrambles to save her using his magical "Happy Gadgets," a disconnect arises due to his sheer innocence, eventually leading to a suspenseful narrative filled with shocking twists. The series was adapted into a streaming anime in 2025, and its unique worldview and serious storyline shocked many viewers, garnering massive attention worldwide.
In response to the release of this rare hand-drawn animation, X was flooded with numerous comments overflowing with love for the series and amazement at the original creator's versatility, such as: "Anime by the original creator!?!?", "Can they do animation too?", "Amazing... I can't believe a hand-drawn animation could be this beautiful... The emotions really came through, and it almost made me cry," and "People who are pro-level at something really excel in other fields too. Incredible."
