Fantasy Novel Heir to a Monstermancer Gets TV Anime Adaptation! Manaka Iwami, Chiaki Kobayashi, Akio Otsuka Join Cast, Comments Arrive

The TV anime adaptation of the fantasy novel Heir to a Monstermancer has been announced, with a teaser visual and main cast and staff details revealed.

Heir to a Monstermancer won the Grand Prize by unanimous vote of the judges at the 2nd Drecom Media Award, a novel contest for new writers. The original novel is a fantasy story following Leen, a descendant of witches with the power to command monsters; her slime companion Ao; and the adventurer Hakura, known as the \"Witch Hunter,\" as they meet and travel together while interacting with both monsters and people.

Continuing from the PV released alongside the first volume, the anime's cast features Manaka Iwami as the protagonist Leen, Chiaki Kobayashi as Hakura, and Akio Otsuka as Ao. Comments have also arrived from original creator Damu Amato, character designer Shirabii, and director Chihiro Kumano.

A manga adaptation has also been confirmed to begin serialization from September 2026. To celebrate the anime announcement, a preview version is being published ahead of the serialization on the web manga site Dorikomi+.
