The anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" is based on the popular manga by Tomato Soup, currently serialized in "Souffle" (Akita Shoten). The protagonist, Sitara, loses her mother and is taken far from her homeland, but after being taken in by a family of scholars, she comes to know the potential and value of knowledge and deepens her learning. However, once the "Mongol Empire" strips her of everything, Sitara resolves to use the one thing she has left—her wisdom—to work her way into the good graces of the royal family and bring the empire down from within.
