The TV anime adaptation of the popular manga series "Promise Me the Spotlight," which has surpassed 200,000 copies in circulation, has been officially confirmed. Along with this announcement, a teaser visual and a celebratory illustration and comment by the original author, Jun Wakatsuki, have been released.

This work is a "Japanese Dream" story where an idol and her sole fan team up to aim for the "center" position. The first chapter, published on X in 2023, received a massive response, garnering approximately 40,000 reposts and 200,000 likes, leading to this long-awaited anime adaptation.

The unveiled teaser visual features Mizuki Natsuno—a member of the national idol group "Melty Strawberry" who is at the bottom of the popularity rankings and on the verge of graduation—and Koichi Okuda, a devoted fan who continues to purely support her as her only fan in the world. Two people whose paths were never meant to cross end up living under the same roof by a twist of fate. The relationship between the idol and her fan, who now share a home due to certain circumstances, is depicted in various situations.

In addition to the celebratory comment and illustration from the author Jun Wakatsuki, a free campaign for volumes 1 and 2 of the original manga will be held on the manga app "Magapoke" from July 9 to July 15 at 11:59 PM to commemorate the TV anime adaptation. Furthermore, the latest volume, Volume 6, will be released on July 9.
