"Maguwai is a wonderful thing!" Oniyasha's bombshell statement sparks reactions: "That takes a lot of courage," "Way too pure" / "The World Is Dancing" Episode 3

Episode 3 of the anime "The World Is Dancing," which centers around Noh theater, has been broadcasting sequentially since July 16. Oniyasha's (CV: Yumiri Hanamori) pure reaction upon witnessing a dance mimicking intimate relations between a man and a woman drew laughter from viewers.

In the latest episode, Episode 3 "You Have Your Own Strengths," the Kanzeza troupe is set to perform a dance in front of the Shogun. Struggling with anxiety ahead of this once-in-a-lifetime major performance, Oniyasha happened to witness a dance for the first time. As he looked on curiously at the two masked figures holding each other closely, wondering, "What on earth is that...?", a mysterious man standing next to him (CV: Takahiro Sakurai) retorted, "Come on, no matter how you look at it, that's obviously maguwai!"

When the man exasperatedly asked, "What, is this your first time seeing it? What on earth are your parents doing?", Oniyasha questioned him back, "Then do you see it often?", only for the other party to laugh and reply, "I'm not on the watching side, you know."

The man explained that the dance is called Ta-asobi (rice-field play) and remarked, "People eat, mate, multiply, and prosper. We celebrate, praise, and pray for that. Just as a man and a woman mate and bear children." Oniyasha murmured deeply, "I have been shown something wonderful," and with sparkling eyes exclaimed, "Maguwai is a wonderful thing!"

Although it was a crucial scene where Oniyasha encounters a new style of dance, many viewers must have chuckled at the clueless exchange.
