The TV anime adaptation of Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat (published by TO Books) has been confirmed and will begin airing in January 2027. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and the first promotional video were released. It was also announced that Anna Nagase will voice the protagonist, Mercedes. In addition, comments from the cast and staff have arrived.
The series is based on the light novel by Fire head. Mercedes is a girl who was reincarnated as a vampire from her previous life as a modern-day Japanese office worker. She had carried deep regret over that past life, which had ended empty and without purpose. Reborn as a vampire of an impoverished noble family, Mercedes wishes that in this second life she can "live without regret, and die with a smile."
To escape her life of poverty and carve out her own path through her own strength, she resolves to take on the dungeon as a Seeker. But after training and building up her abilities, what awaited her were the monsters lurking in the deepest reaches of the dungeon... and the great mystery of the dungeon itself...! No longer willing to end things while still "waning," this is the conquest-adventure fantasy of a vampire girl who made a vow to the moon.

The teaser visual, released to mark the confirmed anime adaptation, features the series' protagonist, Mercedes Grunewald. Set against a large moon floating in the night sky, it is a striking image that conveys both her mystique as a vampire and her inner strength.
The first promotional video, distinguished by its beautiful moon, opens with a scene of a figure—seemingly Mercedes before her reincarnation—falling from out of nowhere. A highlight is the beautiful and dynamic battle scenes featuring Mercedes as a vampire with sharp fangs and pointed ears. All eyes are on her as she moves through this fantastical world.
