"To You, My Lord..." Shitara's Cold Smile Elicits Responses Like "Eek!" and "The Weight of Those Words!": Episode 5 of the Anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia"

In Episode 5 of the anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" (currently airing), a scene unfolded where the protagonist, Shitara (CV: Akira Sekine), flashed a cold smile at Chagatai's (CV: Daisuke Namikawa) words. Giving a glimpse into the hatred Shitara harbors, the scene sparked reactions online such as "Her cold smile was striking" and "A smile that seemed to crush all emotion."

Going by the name "Fatima" and concealing her hatred for the Mongol Empire, Shitara spent many years serving her nemesis Sorghaghtani (CV: Misaki Kuno) while waiting for an opportunity to rebel. In Episode 5, "Snakes Are Spotted Outside; Men Are Spotted Inside," Shitara received secret orders from Sorghaghtani to spy on the movements of Chagatai, the second prince of Genghis Khan.

Spotting Chagatai, the third prince Ögedei (CV: Hiro Shimono), and others gathered together, Shitara secretly peeked at them. However, she accidentally made a noise and was discovered. Suspected of being a spy, Shitara covered for herself by claiming to be a servant of Töregene (CV: Ami Koshimizu), Ögedei's sixth wife.

Upon hearing Shitara's claim, Chagatai harshly declared, "I know not what Töregene asked of you, but sneaking around is hardly commendable. Do not break the law. As a woman, and even more so as a slave, obey the law." Chagatai further complained, "Besides, Muslims in particular tend to ignore the law, which is troublesome. Slitting the throats of sheep..." In response, Shitara showed a smile with an underlying cold demeanor, saying, "I suppose someone like you, my lord, could never understand."
