The anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" is based on the popular manga by Tomato Soup, currently serialized in "Souffle" (Akita Shoten). After losing her mother and being taken far away from her hometown, the protagonist Shitara was taken in by a family of scholars, where she discovered the possibilities and importance of knowledge and cultivated her intellect. However, having had everything taken from her by the Mongol Empire, Shitara decides to use her sole remaining asset—her wisdom—to ingratiate herself with the royal family and collapse the empire from within.
Episode 5: "Snakes Are Spotted Outside; Men Are Spotted Inside"
[Synopsis]
On secret orders from Sorghaghtani, Shitara set out to spy on the movements of Chagatai, the second prince who could become a spark for conflict. With Shira's assistance, she successfully made the necessary arrangements. Just as she did, however, a "Jada stone" she happened to have on her led Töregene, the sixth wife of the third prince Ögedei, to suspect her of theft, putting Shitara under questioning.
