Misaki Kuno, Voice of Gabu-chan in Daemons of the Shadow Realm: "My Whole Body Was Trembling and I Ended Up Crying..." Reveals Behind-the-Scenes of Her "Soulful Performance" in Episode 17

Episode 17 of the anime Daemons of the Shadow Realm, based on the latest work by hit manga creator Hiromu Arakawa known for Fullmetal Alchemist, has been broadcasting sequentially since August 1. Praise for the "soul-stirring cry" of voice actress Misaki Kuno, who plays Gabu-chan, has been pouring in from viewers with comments such as "I got goosebumps" and "I've been sobbing the whole time."

In Episode 17, "The Crying Child and the Bad Child," the betrayal of Akio Kurotani (voiced by Ryūnosuke Watanuki), who serves the Kagemori family, came to light. The Tsugai Akio has contracted is Yamano-kami, a creature of massive stature. However, Gabu-chan fearlessly laughed, "Your Tsugai's horn! Don't you remember who broke it? Akio-kuuuun!"

Enraged by the traitor targeting Asa (voiced by Yume Miyamoto), Gabu-chan shouted, "Asa has nowhere else to go! Even though she finally found a place where she can live peacefully, even if it's small... How could you try to steal even that from her! There's no way I can forgive you!" while steadily cornering Akio with attacks from her own Tsugai, Gabriel (voiced by Ayumu Murase).

In response to the passionate performance by Misaki Kuno as Gabu-chan, praise flooded social media with comments like, "Ms. Kuno's acting was so amazing I almost cried...", "Her performance gave me goosebumps. "I had no intention of crying, but while screaming at the microphone, my whole body was trembling and I ended up crying..." she posted, revealing behind-the-scenes details of the recording. She added, "I learned for the first time that when you hurl angry emotions at someone, tears come out. Maybe it was because the anger came from caring so deeply for Asa."
